Elsebeth Jørgensen works in a site related way with photography, video, sound, tekst, drawing and installation. Her artistic practice is based on long term research at public and private archives collecting material parallel to her own visual documentation, sound recordings and writings. In her presentations she explores montage in many ways – both as method, concept, material and as spatial forms. Her works guestions the meaning of site, history and narrative structures. How cultural memory can be complex constructions of fictions and facts. Since 2011 she has been commissioned to develope site specific works to urban public space and landscape. Here installations, audio walks, performances and web publications are presented as long term collaborations with historical archives and art institutions.

From 1998 – 2010 she also collaborated with artists as Sofie Thorsen and Pia Rönicke. In her recent works she involves composers, musicians and sound artists as Rasmus Zwicki, Ask Kæreby, Tim Hinman and writer Martin Glaz Serup in the proces of producing sound.

Since 1998 she has exhibited at The Museum of Contemporary Art (Roskilde), Hordaland Art Center, Bergen (Norway), Deveron Arts, Aberdeenshire (Scotland) and Overgaden – Institute of Contemporary Art (CPH). DANSK BIO:

Født: 1970. Ringkøbing. Bor og arbejder i København.

Uddannelse: Billedkunstner, Det Kgl. Kunstakademi, Kbh.: 1995-2002
